DWTS: Bobby Bones Calls Out Judge For Low Score

Bobby Bones and his professional dance partner Sharna Burgess had a cracking good time Monday night on the Halloween episode of Dancing with the Stars, according to The Tennessean.

Their psychotic Argentine Tango was delivered to a spooky version "Mr. Sandman."

Sporting a new beard, Bones was a dark, assertive character throughout the number that ended with him simulating snapping his partner's neck. She collapsed on the floor, then got up to receive largely positive critiques that weren't reflected in their mediocre score of 22 out of 30.

"It's like an Argentine nightmare," said judge Bruno Tonioli. "A psycho on the loose. The story-telling and involvement was absolutely chilling."

Carrie Ann Inaba said it was Bones's "best dance so far" and that he was "just so authentically in the moment."

Len Goodman commented that the dance had "mood and atmosphere" but that he "would have liked more Argentine tango."

"I think you did a good job," he added. "Well done."

However, Goodman didn't deem it good enough to give Bones an eight, which is what the country radio personality said is his "only goal" from the judge.

After all the performances, co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews revealed two couples in danger of going home: Mary Lou Retton and pro Sasha Farber and Alexis Ren and pro Alan Bersten.

Ultimately, Retton was given her walking papers. She performed a school-themed tango to “Shame” by Elle King, earning a 24 out of 30. Before her routine, the Olympic athlete opened up about her painful divorce from husband Shannon Kelley.

“This has been the time of my life. I hadn’t challenged myself in decades, and now I challenged myself,” Retton said after being eliminated. “I’m off to a fresh new start.”

Retton is the fifth woman in a row to be sent home, the first time this has happened in DWTS history.
