Fans of “Real Rock Radio” KSHE 95 FM are expected to turn out in large numbers for one of the nation’s largest blood drives during the 34th Annual KSHE Summer Blood Drive on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7.
More than 2000 donors are expected to participate in the two-day event, held in nine locations across the St. Louis metropolitan region.
Everyone who comes to give blood will receive the limited-edition KSHE Summer Blood Drive T-shirt and automatic entry into a drawing for 9 pairs of tickets to see the Foo Fighters on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
According to Amanda Hess, Director, Donor and Public Relations for MVRBC, the blood drive comes at just right time for our region’s blood supply. “During the summer months, every day, every donor and every donation counts. By asking listeners to support the blood supply right after the Fourth of July, KSHE helps ensure our ability to meet patient needs in spite of the decrease in donations we experience around holidays.”
The KSHE Summer Blood Drive was first held in 1984 to support the blood supply during this critical time of year. Since that time, the KSHE listening audience has become a reliable base of support for the blood supply during the summer and holiday season. Nearly 4000 listeners participate in the July and December blood drives every year.
