The NYDailyNews reports the self-proclaimed “Queen of Sappy Love Songs” posted a somber note to Facebook saying her son, Zachariah, died on Tuesday.
“He was being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now,” Delilah Rene, 58, wrote Saturday to her legion of over 1.5 million fans. “My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on.”
Zack was one of the host's 13 children — 10 of whom are adopted. Delilah’s son Sammy died in 2012 due to complications from sickle cell anemia, just two years after she adopted him from a Ghanaian refugee camp in West Africa.
Delilah said in a January Facebook post that Zack was autistic.
She plans on taking a leave of absence from playing love songs and helping listeners through romance and heartbreak on the syndicated program
