According to an e-mail Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews is CBS News' senior vice president of News Administration paid tribute to Lloyd, "I want to take a moment to recognize the extraordinary contributions Constance has made over three decades at CBS News. All of us who had the pleasure of working with Constance saw her tenacity and dedication to our craft and her thoughtful, tireless approach to her work and to others. We are grateful for her years at CBS News and wish her the very best.
"We are fortunate that as we make the transition of our top leadership in Radio, we have a very strong team within the unit to call upon to lead the division.
"Today, I'm pleased to announce that Craig Swagler and Linda Coombs will be taking over the leadership duties for the division reporting directly to me. Linda will be the Director of Operations and will run the day to day and personnel management. Craig takes on the duties of General Manager and will oversee the business operation and editorial direction."
Linda Coombs has worked at CBS Radio for more than 30 years producing breaking news, coordinating special events, and staffing the copy and assignment desks while at CBS News. She got her start as a local news reporter/anchor at WVOS in Monticello, New York. And also worked for a station in Charlotte, North Carolina, before moving back to New York to work for RKO Radio Networks in 1981 prior to joining CBS Radio.
Craig Swagler came to CBS News Radio as a desk assistant in 2001 and soon thereafter was in the Radio Special Events unit managing remote operations and logistics. He has served as Executive Producer of CBS News Radio Special Events since December 2005. Craig was the Executive Producer of CBS News Radio's coverage of the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Democratic and Republican conventions. Since 2013, Craig has been overseeing the editorial content and management of the network's vital morning hour broadcasts, including the World News Roundup.
