D/FW Radio: Rimshot KFZO Flips, Branding As Zona MX

Univision Dallas has announced KFZO-FM (licensed to Denton TX) has flipped formats from Regional Mexican to Banda branding as Zona MX 99.1 FM.

Zona MX will provide a music-intensive format with hours of non-stop music throughout the day. Hosts Maira Torres aka "La Wera" and Jorge Ramirez aka "El Paisa" will entertain listeners with hits by Banda MS and Julion Alvarez to artists such as Calibre 50, La Trakaloza de Monterrey, La Septima Banda, Roberto Tapia, Larry Hernandez and El Komander.

The station had been regional Mexican since Feb. 2016, following four years as a Spanish hits outlet. It ranked at the bottom of the Dallas ratings barrel in Nielsen’s June survey with a 0.2 share of persons aged 6+, unchanged from the previous two surveys.
