Jimmy Buff |
WDST Radio Woodstock 100.1 announced Tuesday that Friday will be Buff’s last day at the station, reports The Daily Freeman.
Neither the station nor Buff would say where he’ll be working next, but Buff said by phone Tuesday afternoon that he’s “excited about it.” He also said he’ll continue to live in the Kingston area.
Buff began his radio career at then WNEW 102.7 FM in New York City, where he produced a morning show. He met Gary Chetkof there, and after Chetkof bought WDST in 1993, Buff came on board as production director.
Buff became WDST’s program director in 1994 and took over as host of the morning show when Nic Harcourt left.
Chetkof, in a prepared statement, said Buff “will be greatly missed” at WDST and that his “contributions to the growth and success of Radio Woodstock are immeasurable.”
