KYW Newsradio Monday announced this year’s five Women’s Achievement Awards Rising Star Honorees. Now in its eighth year, KYW Newsradio Women’s Achievement Awards honor women in the Delaware Valley that have made a positive impact in the region through business leadership and community service.
This year’s program, honoring women under the age of 40, were all voted on by the community through the use of social media. This year’s honorees include: Kristen de Marco, Founder of Gateway Horses; Kelly Gallagher, Founder of The Superheroes Project; Dr. Monique Gary, a Breast Surgical Oncologist at Grand View Health; Lynette Luckers, Founder of the Marion Luckers Kidney Foundation; and Nicole Allen White, Director of Government Affairs for the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
“We are honored to use the influential voice of KYW Newsradio to showcase the dedication and service of these five exceptional rising stars in our community,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Philadelphia. “Their efforts embody what KYW’s Women’s Achievement Awards stand for, and the very reason they were launched eight years ago.”
KYW Newsradio has invited Marilyn Russell, host of 98.1 WOGL’s Remarkable Women Series, to emcee this year’s honoree reception on Wednesday, June 28 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel from 6 PM to 8 PM.
"I'm blessed and lucky to be able to support extraordinary women each and every Sunday morning via Remarkable Women on 98.1 WOGL, WXTU and Today's 96.5, but to host KYW's Women’s Achievement Awards for the first time is really exciting,” said Russell. “As someone who’s advocated for women continuously since 2003, first by blog, then by radio, it's a true honor to be included.".
KYW Newsradio is also excited to welcome this year’s Women’s Achievement Awards Keynote Speaker, Colleen Rooney, Vice President of Global Communications for QVC.
