Nielsen announced Wednesday that it has signed a renewal agreement with Midwest Television for KFMB-TV, a CBS-affiliated television station located in San Diego. Midwest Television adds the CW Network affiliate to their digital subchannel in June 2017, which will also utilize Nielsen’s local measurement services.
Nielsen Audio also renewed its contract with Midwest’s radio stations KFMB 760 AM and KFMB 100.7 FM. Midwest retained all services, including Portable People Meter data and analysis tools, as well as services that provide deep in-market qualitative data.
By renewing its agreement with Nielsen, Midwest Television ensures its local stations have access to local currency ratings data. Nielsen will provide both stations with tools that enable deep and targeted analysis regarding specific consumer segments and characteristics. In addition, KFMB-TV will leverage Nielsen’s in-market, qualitative and analytics insight to gain a full view of the local consumer. The broad set of Nielsen solutions will allow KFMB-TV to have a better understanding of the value of their content and commercial inventory.
“Nielsen offers solutions that are tailored to San Diego’s unique demographics and market dynamics, which help us optimize our assets to achieve the greatest return,” said Alberto Mier y Teran, General Manager, Midwest Television. “Nielsen’s comprehensive portfolio of local solutions helps us position our story in the market and capture our share of local ad dollars. We are pleased to extend our agreement with Nielsen.”
