Tucson Radio: Bobby Rich Moving To PM Drive On KMXZ

Bobby Rich, the affable hall-of-fame Tucson radio personality, will be sleeping in beginning in January.

After 24 years of waking up Tucson, Rich is moving into the afternoon drive slot at KMXZ 94.9 MixFM. "Bobby Rich Celebrates Tucson" will premiere Jan. 3 in the 3 to 7 p.m. slot.

“It won’t be like a talk show," Rich told Tucson.com. "it will be like the morning show is: play music and between songs we’ll have content. But I am going to focus as often as I can on Tucson stuff, whether it's in the nonprofit world or the business world or things to do in town.”

Rich said that over the past couple years he has been itching to do something new with his radio career, which over the past 32 years.

His career has included morning show stints in San Diego and Seattle before coming to Tucson. Early in his career, he worked the afternoon drive shift.
