Sheriff Clarke: Lib Media Gun Control Talk Is Diversion

Commenting on the push by the Obama administration, many Democrats, and the liberal media for more gun control in the wake of the radical Islamic terrorist attack in Orlando, Fla., Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. warned people to not take the bait because the "gun contol" talk is designed to distract attention away from the fact that President Barack Obama is "an abject failure" against terrorism in the United States, and he "cannot keep us safe."

“Sean, don’t take the cheese," said Sheriff Clarke on the June 15 edition of Hannity on the Fox News Channel.  "Um, we’re taking the cheese. This is a trap. The Democrats know this. They throw the NRA up as a straw man. They throw gun control as a straw man when these terrorist incidents happen."

"They throw in the Terror Watch list this time to distract us from the real issue, and you know this," said Sheriff Clarke. "The real issue here is that President Obama has been an abject failure in terms of keeping people on the homeland, here in the United States, safe from terror. He is incapable of doing that."

"They don’t want that discussion to be had so they throw these other issues in there to cloud it," said the sheriff.

"They’d rather have us talking about whether gun control works or not, than talking about the fact that the president of the United States, Barack Obama, cannot keep us safe," he said.


According to cnsnews.com, David A. Clarke Jr., a Democrat, was elected to a 4-year term as the sheriff of Milwaukee County in 2002, and was re-elected in 2006, 2010 and 2014. In those elections he won, respectively, with 74%, 78%, 74%, and 79% of the vote.
