Country WFLS, N/T WNTX, Top40 WVBX and Rock WWUZ teamed up with The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region for a 36-hour fundraiser. The Community Foundation manages and distributes charitable giving in the Rappahannock River region. The Foundations goal is to advance local philanthropy. With the support of the Alpha Media radio stations the 2016 The Community Give was the biggest giving day in local history! In 36 hours, 27 sponsors and thousands of individual donors crushed their million-dollar goal and showed just how generous we are in the Rappahannock River region.
Bonnie Miller, mid-day personality on WFLS, did her show live from the Community Foundation’s location and DJ Lil Mike from WVBX took a pie in the face to help support the cause.
Alpha Media Market Manager, Ralph Salierno commented on the announcement, “We’re all thankful to have been a part of this great day of giving and really happy that we were able to help The Community Foundation reach their all-time record for contributions…Go Fredericksburg!”
