In the month that Gordon Deal celebrates his 10th anniversary as host of This Morning -America's First News with Gordon Deal, Compass Media Networks has announced a multi-year contract extension for Gordon Deal to continue to serve as host of the program.
"Has it really been ten years? Wow!," said Gordon Deal. "Pride and gratitude are the words that come to mind at a time like this. First, thank you to our affiliates, sponsors and listeners. Second, our team puts a tremendous amount of work into our program and I would be remiss not to sincerely thank all our contributors, producers, and staff."
This Morning - America's First News, produced and distributed by Compass Media Networks, is broadcast daily via 300 news and talk stations in 95 of the top 100 markets and then re-broadcast via iTune, TuneIn, and Stitcher. The program reaches over 3.5 million listeners each month.
This Morning America's First News debuted in 2001. In 2005, Gordon Deal was signed as host and the program continued to rise to prominence. In January 1, 2015, Compass Media Networks assumed full control of the program, extending Gordon Deal's contract long-term, hiring Jennifer Kushinka as the program's main news-anchor, and continuing Michael Gavin's role as executive producer and contributor.
Before taking the helm at This Morning - America's First News, Gordon was well-known to New York City radio listeners, having worked at both WINS 1010 AM and WCBS 880 AM.
