KLAQ 95.5 FM radio personality Scott Ronson died Tuesday evening after a battle with lung cancer, the El Paso rock station said on its website.
Ronson, whose age was not released, had worked in El Paso radio for decades. Ronson had said in an online video in July to his listeners at KLAQ-FM that he was fighting lung cancer but that he hoped to return to the airwaves.
"The KLAQ Family has lost an unforgettable voice and personality," the rock station said in a statement Tuesday on its website. "The KLAQ Family would like the listeners to know that our coworker, friend and family member Scott Ronson has lost his battle with lung cancer. Scott has been fighting Stage 4 lung cancer for almost a year, and he passed away earlier this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott's wife, daughters and his grandchildren."
