Ron Ruth, who spent 19-years at the Radio Advertising Bureau
passed away earlier Saturday at the age of 75.
Ruth left the RAB in 2011 to become an outside consultant
for the trade group.
His stint at the RAB followed a successful radio career that
started on the programming side in San
Antonio . After that, he had stints in San
Antonio , Boston , Buffalo ,
Miami and New
York City .
RAB President/CEO Erica Farber said in a weekend eMail to RAB staff
members:
“It is with a heavy heart that I share with you all that we lost our dear, sweet Ron Ruth. Early this morning [Saturday, 11/16] he went into cardiac arrest. CPR was performed all the way to the Emergency Room but unfortunately they were unable to save him. His progress over the past several days has been just shy of a miracle, but sadly the outcome was not what we had been suspecting.”
Funeral arrangements are pending.
