Philly Radio: Fanatic Morning Man John Kincaide Planning To Exit

Veteran sports radio host John Kincade will leave the “Kincade & Salciunas Morning Show” on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia at the end of July. Kincade’s final broadcast is scheduled for Friday, July 31.

After his departure, co-host Andrew Salciunas will continue hosting the station’s weekday morning show from 6-10 a.m.

The move ends Kincade’s second stint in his hometown market. He rejoined The Fanatic in 2021.“John has brought tremendous passion, professionalism, and authenticity to our morning show and to the Philadelphia sports community,” said Program Director Scott Masteller. “He’s been an important part of the station’s success, and we’re grateful for everything he has contributed both on the air and behind the scenes.”

Masteller said the station supports Kincade’s decision and wishes him and his family well. Paul Blake, Vice President and Market Manager for Beasley Media Group Philadelphia, credited Kincade with strengthening the morning show and building strong listener relationships.“John’s connection with Philadelphia sports fans is genuine and special,” Blake said. “He helped strengthen our morning franchise and brought an incredible level of energy and commitment to the station every single day.”

Kincade said the decision followed significant personal reflection after his recent cancer battle.“After a great deal of thought, I’ve decided that this summer will be the right time for me to step away from mornings at The Fanatic,” Kincade said. “This decision comes after a lot of reflection following my cancer battle and thinking carefully about what’s best for me and my family moving forward.”

He thanked Beasley Media Group, his co-workers, and Philadelphia listeners for their support since 2021. Kincade emphasized that he is not retiring and is excited about his next professional chapter.“I’m not retiring, and I’m excited to eventually explore what comes next professionally,” he said. “I’m proud of what we’ve built on the morning show and very confident in the future of The Fanatic.”

A familiar voice in sports radio for more than three decades, Kincade has worked in local and national broadcasting since 1992. In addition to his on-air duties, he has contributed digital content covering the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers.
