Nielsen's Radio Ratings Wraps-Up March PPMs


TAMPA-ST. PETERSBURG-CLEARWATER: Lovey Dovey



Cox Media's Soft AC WDUV (101.5 The Dove) continued its dominance, claiming the #1 spot for the second consecutive book in the 6+ rankings. The station delivered a strong gain, climbing from 8.6 to 9.8 — its highest Frosty-free share in more than a year.

Radio Training Network's Contemporary Christian WCIE (The Joy FM) held steady at #2 but slipped slightly from 7.3 to 7.0, its lowest share since October. CMG’s Classic Hits WXGL (107.3 The Eagle) repeated in third place with an unchanged 6.5 share. Beaslery's  Classic Hits WRBQ (Q105) remained in fourth, posting its fourth consecutive gain, rising from 5.5 to 5.9.iHeartMedia’s Active Rock WXTB (98 Rock) made the biggest leap of the book, surging from #8 to #5 with a solid increase from 4.9 to 5.7 — its best showing since April. CMGH's AC WWRM (Magic 94.9) eased one position to #6, ticking down from 5.3 to 5.1.

WDUV also strengthened its hold on the market, remaining the clear cume leader with a slight uptick from 653,500 to 655,100 (+0.2%). Overall market listening was up 1.8%.


25-54 Breakdown:
WDUV posted another convincing win in the key 25-54 demographic, securing back-to-back #1 books while posting its highest Frosty-free share in over a year. WXTB had a standout performance, jumping from #6 to #2 with its strongest 25-54 book in twelve months. WRBQ settled into third place after a three-book upward run. iHM's Pop CHR WFLZ (93.3 FLZ) slipped to #4, ending a five-book surge. WCIE landed at #5, where it was joined by WWRM, which moved up one spot despite recording its fourth straight down book. iHM's AC WMTX (Mix 100.7) fell two positions to #7.



DENVER-BOULDER:   The Mountain Tops


Audacy Classic Rock KQMT (99.5 The Mountain) reclaimed the #1 position in the 6+ rankings with a slight uptick from 7.0 to 7.1. Bonneville AC KOSI (KOSI 101.1) tightened the gap at #2, climbing from 6.7 to 7.0 and putting serious pressure on the leader.

KSE Media Ventures Classic Hits KXKL (KOOL 105) jumped two spots to #3, rising from 5.0 to 5.2. Audacy's Modern AC KALC (Alice 105.9) held steady at #4 with a minor dip from 5.1 to 4.9. Bonneville Country KYGO slipped to #5, falling from 5.3 to 4.8. 

KOSI remained the cume leader, growing impressively from 490,500 to 506,600 (+3.3%). The overall Denver market was up 0.7%.


25-54 Breakdown: 
iHeartMedia's Alternative KTCL (Channel 93.3) and KQMT stayed locked in at #1 and #2 respectively in the key 25-54 demo. Both stations posted down books and were separated by just half a share.

KALC held at #3 with a small gain, while KOSI moved up one position to tie with it after posting a modest increase.KXKL remained flat at #5.SE Media Ventures' Sports KKSE (Altitude Sports Radio 92.5 FM) rebounded nicely after last month’s big drop (from #6 to #16), climbing back to #6. It tied with AUDACY Rhythmic CHR KQKS (KS 107.5).



SAN DIEGO: Magic Takes Over 


Local Media Rhythmic AC XHRM (Magic 92.5) exploded from #3 to #1 in the 6+ rankings, delivering its strongest book in over a year with a sharp jump from 6.7 to 7.9.  That surge knocked San Diego State University News/Talk KPBS down to #2 (8.1-7.6).  

Audacy Classic Hits KXSN (Sunny 98.1) softened to #3 with its lowest share in over a year (7.7-7.4).  Their AC KYXY stayed at #4 but posted a third straight down book (6.3-6.0).  iHeatMedia's  Hot AC KMYI (Star 94.1) climbed two spots to #5 (4.5-4.7), while iHM's Pop CHR KHTS (Channel 93.3) tumbled two places to #7 (4.9-4.1).  

KXSN held onto the cume crown despite a 2.0% dip (603,500 to 591,200). The San Diego market edged up 0.5%.


25-54 Breakdown:
  XHRM owned the 25-54 demo too, rocketing from #3 to #1 with its best book in over a year.  KXSN slipped to #2, trailing by half a share.  LOCAL MEDIA Alternative XTRA (91X) held #3 with a slight dip.  Active Rock KIOZ (Rock 105.3) stepped up to #4 with a small gain.  KHTS fell from #2 to #5, handing back half of last month’s surge.  KYXY eased one spot to #6.


CHARLOTTE-GASTONIA-ROCK HILL:  Something Special


Beasley Classic Hits WKQC (K104.7) ruled the 6+ standings for the second book in a row, posting its largest Frosty-free share since July with a solid gain from 7.9 to 8.1.

iHeatMedia Adult Hits WLKO (102.9 The Lake) exploded into a clear #2, rocketing from 6.3 to 7.9 — its best book in over a year.  Beasley Urban Contemporary WPEG (Power 98) slipped to #3 but still notched its fifth straight up book (6.3-7.4).  University Radio Foundation's  News/Talk WFAE rebounded to #4 (5.7-6.2).

iHM WKKT (96.9 The Kat) held at #5 (6.0). Urdan One Urban Oldies WOSF (106.5 R&B) collapsed from #4 to #12, plunging from 6.1 to 3.9 — its lowest in over a year. It tied there with iHM's Alternative WEND (106.5 The End) (flat 3.9) and sister Pop CHR WHQC (Hits 96.1), which surged from #16 (3.1-3.9). 

WLKO held the cume lead with a slight rise (470,000-472,100, +0.4%). The market was up 0.3%.


25-54 Breakdown: 
WPEG repeated as 25-54 champion and smashed through the double-digit barrier. WLKO vaulted from #6 to #2 (still nearly four shares back).
WKQC climbed to #3. 
WEND dropped to #4 and tied with WKKT (which inched up despite a down book). 
WFAE leaped from #10 to #6.
WOSF cratered from #2 to #7 with its weakest 25-54 share since July.
