📺BROADCAST MORNINGS SHOWS

GMA Holds Viewer Lead, Today Leads Demo

For the week of October 13, 2025 (ending October 19), ABC's Good Morning America (GMA) led broadcast morning shows in total viewers with an average of 2.75 million viewers, while NBC's Today secured the top spot in the Adults 25-54 demographic with 575,000 viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings released Wednesday.

  • GMA also averaged 485,000 demo viewers, up +1% in total viewers and +2% in the demo week-over-week (WoW) but down -1% in total viewers year-over-year (YoY).
  • Today posted 2.62 million total viewers, dipping -1% in both metrics WoW and -3%/-2% YoY.
  • CBS Mornings trailed with 1.95 million total viewers and 365,000 demo viewers, down -3%/-2% WoW and -4%/-15% YoY, reflecting challenges in a competitive media landscape.

GMA's viewer lead, its fourth straight week at No. 1, was driven by election coverage and high-profile interviews, extending its season-to-date edge (+177,000 over Today). Today's demo dominance aligns with its lifestyle and entertainment appeal, critical for ad revenue. CBS Mornings leaned on policy segments but struggled to expand reach.

Season-to-date (September 22–October 19), GMA averages 2.712 million total/482,000 demo; Today 2.535 million/576,000; CBS Mornings 2.012 million/361,000—all showing modest YoY declines amid streaming shifts.
