Bad Bunny to Perform at Super Bowl

Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican superstar whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has been  announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show.

This marks a major milestone for the Latin trap and reggaeton artist, who has dominated global charts with hits like "MIA," "I Like It," "Me Porto Bonito," and "Dákiti." The news broke during halftime of NBC's Sunday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, and Bad Bunny shared a teaser video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring his track "Callaíta," where he sits on a goalpost to hype the reveal.Event DetailsDate and Location: The performance will take place on February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California (home of the San Francisco 49ers, in the Bay Area).

Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins are co-executive producers, with Hamish Hamilton directing. This continues Roc Nation's partnership with the NFL since 2019.

Airing live on NBC, with streaming on Peacock.  This nod to his Puerto Rican roots and Latin heritage echoes the show's history of spotlighting diverse artists, like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020. NFL's Jon Barker praised Bad Bunny's "global energy and cultural vibrancy," noting his ability to bridge genres and languages for a massive audience.

Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny rose to fame in the late 2010s through SoundCloud and collaborations, blending reggaeton, trap, and Latin pop. He's a three-time Grammy winner (including for Best Música Urbana Album for Un Verano Sin Ti and El Último Tour del Mundo), with 12 Latin Grammy Awards and 10 Grammy nominations overall.

As one of the most-streamed artists worldwide, his selection follows Kendrick Lamar's record-breaking 2025 show (133.5 million viewers with guest SZA), continuing the trend of high-profile, genre-blending performances.

Rumors had swirled about Taylor Swift headlining after she reportedly declined due to unmet demands, with Adele also considered.
