FOX News Media Names Two As Scholarship Recipients

FOX News Media, in partnership with the National Merit Scholarship Program, has selected Ella Farahnakian and Megan Terralavoro as the recipients of its sixth annual Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship, announced FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott.

Farahnakian is the daughter of FOX News Digital’s Vice President of Digital News Beth Saunders, and Terralavoro is the daughter of senior video editor Scott Terralavoro.

Dr. Krauthammer was a signature part of Special Report’s panel throughout his years with the network. In his honor, the winners were featured on the program with Bret Baier Tuesday. Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s son, Daniel Krauthammer was also on set to discuss the award.

In making the announcement, Scott said, “We are honored to name Ella and Megan as the 2025 recipients of the sixth annual Dr. Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship. Their dedication and drive for excellence epitomize what Dr. Krauthammer stood for and we are proud to honor his legacy through this scholarship.”

Ella Farahnakian is a senior at Groton School in Groton, MA where she serves as co-editor-in-chief at her school’s newspaper. Additionally, she is co-head of the Groton Current Events Club, Groton Feminists Club and co-editor of Groton Law Review. She is also a co-captain on the varsity tennis team. Throughout her academic tenure, Farahnakian has earned the Gold Key Scholastic Writing Award, Jefferson Book Prize, AP Scholar with Distinction and Fels Science Prize. She plans to major in Political Science and History while earning a degree toward a career in law and public service.

Megan Terralavoro is a senior at John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction, NY where she serves as the captain of the varsity basketball team. She is the club treasurer of the National Honor Society and a member of the Spanish Honor Society and History Honor Society. In addition, Terralavoro is the founder of the varsity girls flag football team where she was named captain for their inaugural season. She received the John Jay Student of the Month award as well as the New York Extreme Hoops Coach’s Award. In college, she plans to major in accounting at Fairfield University, which she also intends to pursue a career in post-graduation.

FOX News Media established the Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship in 2018 to award eligible children of network employees. The winners receive a stipend per college year for a maximum of four years. The program is entirely conducted through the National Merit Scholarship Program by the independent, non-profit National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), including deciding winners and the administration of their awards.
