Report: New ESPN Morning Show To Launch In A Few Weeks

ESPN reportedly has found its new morning team.

The NY Post reports Giants Super Bowl champion Chris Canty will be joined by SiriusXM’s Evan Cohen and Michelle Smallmon in the mornings for a new program the network hopes will begin in time for football season in a few weeks, The Post cites sources.

The trio is replacing the combination of Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams and Max Kellerman.

Johnson and Kellerman were part of ESPN’s recent layoffs, while Williams’ contract is up soon and his future with the network remains in limbo.

Cohen will depart his SiriusXM program, “Morning Men,” which he hosts with Mike Babchik and former Jet Willie Colon.

Canty has worked with Chris Carlin in afternoons on ESPN Radio and the duo often filled in for Mike Greenberg on mid-mornings.

Greenberg is expected to continue from 10 a.m. to noon, while the rest of the national afternoon lineup is still being sorted out, though Carlin figures to be a part of it.

ESPN has ceded advertising sales to Good Karma Brands, which also has relationships locally in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
