Baltimore Radio: Entercom Hosting "I'm Listening" Event


Entercom has announced a two-hour live “I’m Listening” event, presented by Recovery Centers of America and hosted by radio and television host and addiction medicine specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky. The program will air on Today’s 101.9 (WLIF-FM) Facebook Live on Thursday, November 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dr. Drew and a panel of expert speakers will discuss substance abuse, suicide prevention and information on how to get help.

It is our goal to open up the conversation and help end the stigma surrounding mental health,” said Tracy Brandys, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Baltimore. “We are proud to leverage our platform and voices to help provide the appropriate resources and information to those affected and encourage people to talk.”

The program will take place in front of a live audience at the Entercom Baltimore Performance Studio. Morning show talent Gina Crash from Today’s 101.9 and Jason Kidd from 947 The Drive (WIAD-FM) will lead the discussion along with Dr. Drew. 

They will be answering questions from both the in-studio audience and Facebook Live viewers. For those not in attendance, Facebook Live links will be posted on the Facebook pages of Today’s 101.9, 105.7 The Fan (WJZ-FM), HFS@104.9 FM (WWMX-HD2), MIX 106.5 (WWMX-FM) and Sports Radio 1300 (WJZ-AM) in Baltimore and 947 The Drive and WPGC 95.5 FM (WPGC-FM) in Washington. D.C.

“I’m Listening,” presented by Recovery Centers of America is aimed at challenging the stigma and isolation surrounding mental health and showing those affected that there is help. Recovery Centers of America’s mission is to save one million lives from the disease of addiction using evidence-based practices and clinical expertise.

“I’m Listening” is Entercom’s yearlong multiplatform initiative to raise awareness around mental health. The campaign includes suicide prevention PSAs, on-air promos and a dedicated website with information and resources to end the stigma around mental health discussions. The company also aired a two-hour live nationwide “I’m Listening” broadcast special on mental health awareness on September 8 to mark the start of National Suicide Prevention Week.
