Ruth Gaviria EXITS As Entercom CMO
Ruth Gaviria, who joined Entercom Communications as its first CMO, is stepping down from her role this week.
Gaviria joined the radio operator three years ago after roughly 30 years marketing Hispanic-focused brands such as Univision.
Gaviria handled communications surrounding Entercom’s acquisition of CBS Radio in 2017. Her efforts on behalf of the larger industry to drive advertisers back to the medium earned her a spot on Holmes Report’s 2018 list of the 25 most innovative marketers in North America.
“She has made a great impact in a number of ways including establishing a strong corporate marketing strategy and elevating our local and national brand identity,” CEO David Field said in a staff memo Monday. Entercom will launch a search for Gaviria’s replacement, he said.
Gaviria, who did not elaborate on her next move, thanked Field and the comms group created under her watch. “This award-winning team ushered in a new era in audio for both Entercom and the radio industry with strategic and creative campaigns, and, most of all, galvanized the culture around a clear mission and framework to go to market. The future is bright and my works feels done,” she said.
"I wish Entercom the very best and I could not be more excited about embracing my next challenge as a growth catalyst and an agent of change in what is arguably a revolutionary time to be a marketer.”
