Cumulus Media announces that its Washington, D.C. News/Talk radio station WMAL 105.9FM / AM630 raised over $456,000 in donations to Fisher House Foundation through its annual two-day radiothon.
WMAL’s two-day live broadcast on Friday and Saturday, December 1-2, drove broad-based listener donations and was anchored by station personalities Chris Plante, Larry O’Connor, Mary Walter and Vince Coglianese.
Fisher House Foundation provides homes away from home for the families of injured servicemen and women while their partners are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
“Our listeners have once again answered the call to support the men and women of our armed services and their families”, said Bill Hess, WMAL Program Director and Cumulus Media VP/News & Talk. “Their interaction with our personalities and the WMAL brand is truly remarkable”.
“Fisher Houses are built on partnerships. And partnership begins with community,” said Ken Fisher, Chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation. “We are so grateful to WMAL, and its community of listeners who have been incredibly supportive of Fisher House. For over a decade, the WMAL audience has helped raise $5 ½ million to support military, veterans and their families. It’s your community of listeners that are truly being part of the solution.”
