San Antonio Radio: iHM Promotes Russell Rush

iHeartMedia announced Tuesday that Russell Rush has been promoted to Program Director for KXXM Mix 96.1 FM.

 He will continue to serve as weekday afternoon on-air personality for the station. Mix 96.1 has a strong cross-platform presence and broadcasts several popular personalities including the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, Emily and EJ.

Rush will be responsible for the day-to-day programming operations of Mix 96.1. He will work closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station’s on-air content, digital footprint and music programming. Rush will report to Brian Gann, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Central Texas Region.

Rush is a well-respected San Antonio-area radio personality who has been with iHeartMedia since 2005, most recently serving as Assistant Program Director and hosting The Russell Rush Show on Mix 96.1. In addition, he serves as host of a weekly public affairs show that airs on all seven stations in the iHeartMedia San Antonio market. In 2008, he was named “Radio Personality of the Year” by the San Antonio Media Alliance. Rush also hosts The Russell Rush Haunted Tour, which is a well-known web based show where Rush and his co-stars hunt ghosts.
