Bob Wohlfeld |
Wohlfeld, best known for his work as a music disc jockey and his edgy “Wolf in the Morning” program on WPYX 106.5 FM in the market, joined Jeff Levack as the co-host of the afternoon sports talk show “Levack and Wolf” on WTMM on April 1.
Wolf’s bio is no longer on the station’s website. Zach Bye filled in on Wednesday’s show.
“We parted ways,” Wohlfeld told The Daily Gazette. “I was brought on to provide some non-sports lifestyle and entertainment content and was not permitted to do that. I tried to adapt to their vision, but was the wrong guy for the job.
“We all knew it was an experiment. Just did not work. I’m a classic rock guy at heart.”
Wohlfeld replaced Armen Williams, who left the station for a program director’s job in Denver. The pairing of Wohlfeld and Levack seemed odd because Levack was the sports expert, and Wohlfeld wasn’t.
Wolf’s departure comes shortly after Brady Farkas, producer of “Big Board Sports” and host of “Capital Region Sports Saturday,” left WTMM for a program director’s job at the ESPN Radio affiliate in Burlington, Vt.
