Prior to her coming to the all-news station, the Gary, IN native worked at northwestern Indiana radio stations WGVE-FM, WJOB-AM, and WLTH-AM.
Middlebrooks newscasts (along with co-anchor and veteran Chicago newsperson Pat Cassidy) have consistently been #1 in the ratings. This is especially true in the last few years, proving she is only getting better with age.
In the most recent radio ratings released yesterday by Nielsen, WBBM-AM's morning drive shift was #1 with an 8.1 share -- nearly a 3 share above the closest competitor.
Except for an ugly 2002 contract disagreement with CBS Radio that was brought to the public's attention and relatively quickly resolved, Middlebrooks has been quietly doing excellent news radio work on Newsradio 780 for three decades -- greatly pleasing station listeners, management, and sponsors.
