"The Late Show With Jersey Guy Ray Rossi" is expected to debut July 11th on the same station that fired him last week.
101.5 FM WKXW will air the new show evenings from 11p to 3a. It will be live Monday thru Thursday.
Rossi is one half of the Jersey guys team which previously aired on NJ 101.5 afternoons. Their contract was not renewed and it was announced last week that former hosts Jeff Deminski & Bill Doyle are coming back to afternoon drive (2pm -7pm weekdays) starting on Tuesday July 5th.
The change caused an uproar among Jersey Guys fans and one of them had just established a Facebook Page to "Bring The Jersey Boys Back". The page offers action plans steps for other disgruntled fans of The Jersey Guys. Today's news pleases fans who aare happy Rossi has a job again, but many are still upset he's not on-air during drive time or at least during the day.

Wind out of whose sails??? We will still make quite a bit of noise for this idiocy!
ReplyDeleteTook the wind out of my sails! Ray was the only telented one of the two......just wish he was on earlier.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be an interesting experiment. Ray's roots are in being a music DJ and it's something he did very well. Unfortunately he's always struggled when either Carton or Casey was out and it was sometimes painful to listen to. Getting calls overnight is tough enough and I can only imagine it's going to be tough if you struggle as a solo host. If they wanted to put someone live in that spot, they should have brought Tommy G back. He wasn't my favorite but I think he's more capable than Ray of hosting his own show and especially an overnight show.
ReplyDeleteNotice they wont mention Boycott New Jersey 101.5 on Facebook, afraid to give anyone any more ideas? Sickening what that station did to its loyal listeners and their top rated employees. Its not about being disgruntled, its about your sleazy ways of treating people, people who make your station what it is. Analyze and sugarcoat it all you want. New Jersey 101.5, Eric Johnson and other "fine quality" reps of this station can scurry around like roaches, trying to "squelch" the noise but the damage is done. New Jersey people KNOW your "throw the dirty tampon" tactics. Accept responsibility for once that you could care less and USE people and could care even less about the people who listen to your station. Boycott New Jersey 101.5 doesnt seem like a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteray should be able to bump that stupid 7pm show,I'm really what does Michelle know aboue relationships when she cant even keep one of her own..I have only heard the show for a couple mins.1 or 2 x's becuz that's all I can stomach.
ReplyDeletewho really cares? they never took calls from someone who disagreed with them, they pretty much sucked for the first three months of the year which is why I stopped actively listening about five months ago
ReplyDeleteI agree him will never make it as a solo....especially at those hours. This station does this all the time build up an audience and WHAM after a year or two hosts are gone. I can't believe they brought back that JUDY with Dennis. I liked him so much better with Michele. Oh well that's why they have buttons on the radio move on to another station......Miss Casey :(((
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Ray is coming back solo! I liked when Casey was out and Ray would dj alone. He is so much nicer than Casey and would let callers voice their opinion even if he didn't agree with the caller. If a caller disagreed with Casey, he would just call them names and hang up on them. Casey was just too mean and arrogant.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Ray!
If you know anything about radio, you're not shocked at all by the way this was handled. Their ratings were languishing, so a change in the lineup isn't surprising. Any time a station makes a change, there is no "goodbye". No one ever gets a last show.
ReplyDeleteDid Tommy G get to say goodbye? Did Mary Walter get to say goodbye? There is the usual uproar, but management knows that it will die down in time. Sure they'll lose some listeners, but they'll gain listeners who didn't like the previous host. This is nothing new.
They ruined Jersey Guys and on top of that had the utter stupidity to bring that nasty witch Judy back. They ruined 2 shows in one year. At least put Ray on with Dennis. Now that would be entertaining.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Ray is back. Happy Casey isn't, he was the reason I stopped listening. Casey hated everybody.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Casey is a rat - he even made a comment once that his neighbors won't talk to him - I wonder why? Too bad Rossi won't last long on the late show.
ReplyDeleteGive that moron Michelle jersen the 11pm slot and put Rossie in her time slot!
ReplyDeleteFolks, come on. NJ101.5 talent is B and C level at best. Rossi will be fine on his own. Bartholemew was pathetic in his attempts to be Howard Stern.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised when I didn't find them at 2pm. I have to agree that Casey was usually slamming everyone and Ray was the nice guy. Casey could be funny, but most of the time he made me switch to NPR.
ReplyDeleteI think the Dennis and Ray combo could be really interesting. I absolutely despise Judi. She is so irritating. I also like the idea of putting Ray at 700pm and moving Michelle. Her voice just goes right through me!! So nasal!
ReplyDeleteWHY WAS THE SHOW PULLED OFF THE AIR?
ReplyDeletethese guys were bad. Let's be real. The show was the cure for insomnia
ReplyDeleteI would rather hear ray on the radio than casey.
ReplyDeleteI think Casey pissed too many people off and they canned him. Notice how they did not offer him another spot. Where will that bonehead wind up now..? I loved Carton and Ray, they are perfect together. I agree, Jerson is a tart and knows nothing about relationships as she has never had one. It is kinda like talking to the priest about gettin laid. What the freak does he know..?
ReplyDeleteTeam Ray with Tommy G and you have yourself a show!
ReplyDeleteI wondered what happened to the show. Only thing I could think of was that the cancelled the show, or that Casey was fired. Casey crossed the line a lot, and I would not be surprised if he was fired. Ray was different, and it seems they were a mis-match. Dennis and Ray would make a good match.
