Bruce Springsteen tells fans that Clarence Clemons, his E Street bandmate, will recover to rock aghain.
According to a story by Jim Farber and Bill Hutchinson at nydailynews.com, Bruce Springsteen encouraged fans Tuesday to pray that his beloved sideman Clarence Clemons to recover from a massive stroke and reach "greater heights" as a rocker.
In his first comments since the legendary E Street Band's sax player was stricken over the weekend at his Singer Island, Fla., home, The Boss said The Big Man is showing encouraging signs of progress.
"By now, many of you have heard that our beloved comrade and sax player Clarence Clemons has suffered a serious stroke. While all initial signs are encouraging, Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again," Springsteen said in a statement.
"He has his wonderfully supportive wife, Victoria, excellent doctors and health care professionals, and is surrounded by friends and family," Springsteen added.
