The 45-second feature is available to radio stations of all formats and market sizes through Benztown. “Coronavirus 411” is produced by Rick Cummings and Dave Beasing, whose Sound That BRANDS podcast company also produces a long-form podcast called “Coronavirus 411”. The radio feature is available free of charge to Benztown imaging libraries clients across all Benztown audio production libraries. The long-form podcast is available via Apple Podcasts and other podcast apps.
The feature comes on the heels of the spread of the coronavirus to the U.S., with at least 64 cases confirmed in the US, 6 and several new cases reported in California, Oregon and Washington state. The victims there have no known overseas travel or other known exposure to the disease, leading to fears that the virus has gone airborne. There are more than 85,000 confirmed cases worldwide, with at least 2,933 confirmed deaths. Six deaths from coronavirus have been confirmed in the U.S. as of Monday.
Dave “Chachi” Denes, Benztown President, said: “We are gratified to bring this important and timely feature to markets across the U.S. More than 90,000 cases of the coronavirus have been diagnosed worldwide as of Monday, with more than 3,000 deaths confirmed in 66 countries where the illness has spread. In the U.S., cases are nearing 100 and confirmed in 13 states. The result is widespread demand for current, accurate information about coronavirus in communities across the U.S. and around the world.”
“Sound That BRANDS VP William Corbin realized that there wasn't a consistent audio source for this vital information appearing in search results," said Sound That BRANDS CEO Dave Beasing. "Since launch, it has become one of America's most-listened-to daily news podcasts, almost overnight. We're pleased to now also distribute Coronavirus 411 via Benztown's affiliated stations. Let's hope that the need for this feature will soon pass."
