'Broadcaster' Again Makes Most-Stressed List

According to a new study by CareerCast.com, “Broadcaster” is the eighth most stressful job you can have. They looked at 11 different kinds of job demands that evoke stress, both physical and mental.

Stress, as defined by the Jobs Rated methodology, is determined by 11 factors: travel, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness, physical demands, environmental conditions, hazards encountered, the life of oneself or others at risk, meeting and interacting with customers and/or the public, and the potential for job growth.



Thus, jobs can be remarkably stressful, albeit for remarkably different reasons. The stress inherent with working as a police officer or firefighter, for example, is readily apparent.

Most-Stressful Jobs: 
  1. Enlisted Military Personnel
  2. Firefighter
  3. Airline Pilot
  4. Police Officer
  5. Event Coordinator
  6. Public Relations Director
  7. Senior Corporate Executive
  8. Broadcaster
  9. Newspaper Reporter
  10. Taxi Driver
Least-Stressful Jobs:
  1. Information Security Analyst
  2. Diagnostic Medial Sonographer
  3. Tenured University Professor
  4. Hair Stylist
  5. Medical Records Technician
  6. Medical Laboratory Technician
  7. Jeweler
  8. Audiologist
  9. Dietician
  10. Librarian

City Bus Drivers... were excluded from everything... every second we open the door a problem arises but others don't see it that way. 8 hour shift think about it? how many stops back and forth up and downs i have to do and service ignorant pissed off people who only think of themselves and not the driver and lash out on us everytime that door opens... this list is an opinion list..not a census.. drivers have the worst job.. i have the worst job... a pilot sips on his coffee and puts it in auto for the majority.. ya.. im sweating.. tuff job.... Event Coordinator... lmfao.. is that even a JOB? and NewsPaper Reporter.... someone who Blabs about crap all day.. and takes pictures.. ya tuff job! meet those deadlines... ya.. real contribute to society.. a coward behind the desk.. try my job fckers

    1. Nobody forced you to be a bus driver. An admirable profession, but you don't seem to be handling it well. What a bitter, unhappy person you are...

    2. It depends on the type of bus routes. There's a big difference between driving inner city buses and regional suburban buses.

      Most of the time with city buses it's the drivers who hassle passengers for no reason.

  3. I don't she any medical professionals listed. I would think anything from first responder on up would be extremely stressful!
