Baltimore Radio: The QuickSilva Morning Show Wakes-Up WERQ

Inspiring the next generation of radio hosts, The QuickSilva Morning Show is now broadcasting in Baltimore, according to WBAL-TV11.

In his hometown, at WERQ 92Q, where it all began, it's been a long time coming for The QuickSilva Morning Show to hit Baltimore airwaves.

"This is that part that starts your day. They say breakfast is the most important meal. I believe The Morning Show is that vitamin that gets you up, gets your blood rolling, keeps you entertained and smiling at the same time," DJ QuickSilva said.

"We have fun in the morning. My co-hosts, Chey Parker and Porkchop, are absolutely amazing. They really help make this show a full show. I couldn't do it by myself," QuickSilva said.

While he's getting used to the much earlier alarm, the radio industry has evolved since his career began.

"Back in the day, when you mentioned some of the greats, it was just about radio. Nowadays, it's not just about radio. It's about how influential you are on social media, how active are you in the community? How active are you in schools? How active are you in clubs?" DJ QuickSilva said.

While it may seem like three friends just having a comedic conversation in the morning, Silva and Parker said education is key to withstanding the changes of the radio industry.

Keeping listeners informed with the hottest trending topics and having fun with listeners is the daily goal, while also creating space for the next generation of Baltimore youth to sit behind the mic.

"It's too many outlets to be hard for you to worry about just radio; It's so much more. The world is expanding, even radio is expanding," Porkchop said.

"It sounds like a broken record when I said, hard work, dedication, consistency. Consistency separates the good from the greats and being disciplined," Silva said.
