Savannah Radio: Cumulus Stations' Radiothon Nets $103k+

Cumulus Media announces that Cumulus radio stations in Savannah, GA, raised $103,116 in the annual Cumulus Savannah Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The successful two-day fundraiser featured on-air and online special programming and promotions on Thursday, February 29th and Friday, March 1st, to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude that no child should die in the dawn of life.

Joining forces to engage the community in this mission were Cumulus Savannah stations Magic 103.9/WTYB-FM (Urban AC), I-95 Rock of Savannah/WIXV-FM (Classic Rock), and KIX96/WJCL-FM (Country).

All funds raised during the event go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will support St. Jude patients and families who never receive a bill from St. Jude for the cost of treatment, travel, housing, or food. At St. Jude, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay. Since St. Jude opened its doors in 1962, the survival rate for childhood cancer has risen from 20% to more than 80% today.

DJ Rax, Operations Manager, Cumulus Savannah, said: “I'm always astonished to see our staff come together for this amazing cause. Thank you to the Cumulus Savannah team, as well as our incredible sponsors, and our generous listeners who became partners in hope with us and with St. Jude this year. We couldn't have raised these funds without you. Savannah Loves St. Jude-- Thank you again!”

On-air personalities broadcasting live in-studio throughout the Radiothon included I-95 Rock of Savannah’s Billie Marshall (also Program Director for I-95) and Renee LaSalle; Magic 103.9’s K.Michelle; and KIX96’s Sarah Lynn and McCracken, with special guests, interviews and more to support the kids of St. Jude.
