Anderson Cooper has switched talent agencies, signaling potential new career moves.
The CNN anchor, with the network since 2001, left United Talent Agency (UTA) after over a decade to join Creative Artists Agency (CAA), sources told Semafor, The Wrap, and Variety.
The move follows Warner Bros Discovery’s announcement to split into two companies, with CNN leading a new venture focused on struggling linear TV. Cooper, 58, earns $18 million annually, but a recent Puck report by CNN alum Dylan Byers suggested such high salaries may face cuts as cable markets decline and the new firm’s head, former WBD CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels, prioritizes cost-cutting.
Four sources told Variety that Cooper’s agency switch is seen as “a possible sign” he’s exploring other opportunities. He will be represented directly by CAA CEO Bryan Lourd, according to reports.
