New Country 96.3 (KSCS-FM) and 99.5 The Wolf (KPLX-FM), both Dallas/Fort Worth Cumulus Media radio stations, joined forces for a two-day broadcast to raise money for Cook Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Thursday, December 8, 2022, and Friday, December 9, 2022, on-air talent from each station took to their microphones and simulcast the 9th Annual Country for the Kids Radiothon, raising $1,045,469.33 for Cook Children’s in just 26 hours. The text and online donation lines will stay open for another week, adding to the record-breaking number raised this year.

The stations created a satellite studio in the Cumulus Dallas/Fort Worth conference room with the on-air talent broadcasting from a round table setup, creating a unique on-air experience which allowed all eight on-air personalities to simultaneously broadcast together for the entire 26 hours. The stations used video streaming platforms to interview hospital patients, their families, and staff who were at the hospital or their homes during the broadcast. The stations also used their expansive social media presence to gain additional donations by live streaming the entire two-day broadcast on their respective Facebook pages.
2022 marks the ninth Cook Children’s Radiothon broadcast for New Country 96.3 and the third Cook Children’s Radiothon broadcast for 99.5 The Wolf. Cumulus Dallas/Fort Worth has raised more than $3,350,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital during their nine-year partnership.

Money raised through the Country for the Kids Radiothon will be used to fund the areas where the need is greatest at Cook Children’s. This includes, but is not limited to, the daily care of patients and their families, enhancement of programs, and investing in innovative equipment that is up-to-date with the latest advances in medicine and technology.
The Country for the Kids Radiothon was presented by EECU. The phone bank was sponsored by CornerStone Staffing and CornerStone Medical. Other supportive businesses include Cutting Edge Haunted House, Albertson’s, Tom Thumb, Dave & Busters, Cotton Patch, Sun & Ski Sports, Sam Pack Auto Group, IHOP, and Sony Music Nashville.
