Live365 Launches Streaming Station for Emerging Artists

Discovery365 (D365) is a new Internet Radio Station that plays only music from emerging and independent artists, mixing many different musical styles.

The station's mission is to promote new artists by letting those artists tell the stories behind the songs—introducing themselves and their music. This unique format of multiple musical styles combined with artist introductions and story telling enhances listener engagement with the song and creates a type of 'Reality Show Radio.'

The station is programmed and curated by veteran radio programmer Dean Kattari (KFOG, KRSH, KSAN, KINK-FM, KRSH, MAX-FM) who launched the station on July 4, 2015 to celebrate "Independence Day For Independent Artists."

"There's a story behind every song," says Kattari, "and when you know a little bit about what the songwriter was thinking about when they wrote the song, you listen to the song differently because now it has more meaning, even if it's a style of music that you don't normally listen to or a musician that you've never heard of. No DJ knows a song as well as the person who actually wrote the song, so we're connecting the songwriter directly with the listener on Discovery365."

Bands are encouraged to submit their music and stories to Discovery365 on the station's website – www.live365.com/d365 for consideration. New music is added to the rotation on a daily basis so that the playlist is constantly evolving. Kattari is also gathering music to build genre-specific shows that will soon serve the listeners that prefer to dive more deeply into one style of music. These will include Hard Rock/Metal, Jazz, Urban/HipHop/Rap, EDM/Dance/Chill, and Country/Folk/Singer-Songwriter.
