“The Dick Morris Show” airs 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
CBS Radio Senior Vice President/Market Manager Marc Rayfield told newsmax.com: “Dick is a great addition to our lineup of live and local
personalities, and provides a voice that will raise the audience's interest in
what's happening in politics today.
Morris, once called “the most influential private citizen in
America ”
by Time magazine, is a former Fox News commentator and adviser to President
Bill Clinton. He is also the co-author along with his wife Eileen McGann of a
dozen New York Times best-selling books.
“I have not been this excited about introducing a new show
to the industry in a long time,” said WPHT Operations Manager Andy Bloom. “The
show will be provocative, intelligent, and a must-listen.”
Said Morris: “I love radio, which provides the time
necessary to discuss the important issues. The calls are from real people — and
you get to do the interrupting.”
Dick Morris has been a disaster for WPHT. I like "Live & Local" but the station needs BALANCE. To grow it's audience the station needs palatable not hosts full of personal plugs and hot air like Morris.
ReplyDeleteThe format of Gary R'Nel interviewing Morris is ridiculous. I'd rather hear R'Nel alone or better yet Steve M. & Rich Z. as a team.
Four hour shows are TOO long. Leave the audience wanting more .... not wanting to plug their ears. Ugh!

This show is a joke. Morris is horrible on-air. Unlistenable. THe best thing at WPHT was the Michael Smerconish program. It was intelligent and didn't just regurgitate Republican talking points like every other show on that station. That clown in the early morning is unlistenable. The Dom Giordano show is a joke - is there an intelligent conservative host in Philadlephia? What a shame for us Michael went to satellite radio - but it was a savvy move for his career. Being associated with the partisan hacks on PHT was lowering his credibility.
ReplyDeleteAwful line up made worse with four hour slots of Neanderthals spewing alternative reality GOP slop! Dick Morris is all about plugging his own .com, books, articles, topics of the day. Surprised his ego fits in your station. We don't care about HIM we care about our city and state. We want variety, live and local hosts that converse not preach to listeners. "Fresh Air", he's paranoid and old news, he spreads machinations as fact. DM's credibility ZERO. Finally he's got a voice for newspapers NOT radio. DM sunk your ship.
ReplyDeleteIf half the country is liberal and half conservative how do you plan to grow your audience with all conservative hosts droning on with same nonsense all day long, day after day after day? UGH. Smerconish brought new listeners to your station all the time. You blew it big time letting him go. Your next best is Steve Mortorano he's only on a few hours per week. Independents are middle of the road, you need Smerconish back.
