Austin Radio: Norsan Media Acquiring KTXX +Translator


Norsan Media, one of the nation’s top Hispanic Media companies providing entertainment and news via radio, television, newspapers, large-scale events, social media and digital marketing in the Southeast, adds new radio stations in the Austin, Texas market.

The company is now operating104.9 KTXX-FM Bee Cave and 105.3 K287FG Austin TX.

“The acquisition reflects the advancement of our continued strategic positioning in the Austin, Texas market, to increase market share and establish the base of our multi-channel 360 degree approach to reach the Hispanic audience in the market. Along with our existing Austin station: Regional Mexican La Raza 95.1 K236AY-FM/1530 KZNX-AM, these additional frequencies will allow us to serve and embrace the vast and ever-growing multicultural radio audience in Austin.” said Norberto Sanchez, Norsan Media’s CEO.




The format of the station has yet to be released, and the company’s current station: La Raza 95.1 FM/1530 AM will continue to air in Austin. According to Natalia S. Alvarez, President of Norsan Media, the stations will broadcast a super localized content featuring music, entertainment and relevant local news.

The company currently owns and operates Regional Mexican, Latin Urban, Latin Pop/Tropical, Spanish Adult Contemporary/Romántica stations in the Southeast and Austin, TX. The company has a combined reach of over 3 million Hispanics with their coverage in the US. In 2004, NORSAN launched Norsan Media in the Southeast and is based in Charlotte, NC and currently owns over 40 radio stations, 4 TV stations, a weekly regional digital and printed publication, and digital marketing and social media platforms in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Texas.

Norsan Media’s holding company, NORSAN, was founded in 1987 by Norberto Sanchez.
