NYC Radio..Farewell Craig Carton, WFAN Says Hello To....

WFAN is going in-house for its Craig Carton replacement.

The NYPost’s Andrew Marchand confirmed that Tiki Barber will co-host in WFAN afternoon drive alongside Evan Roberts after Carton departs the program at the end of the month to focus exclusively on his FS1 morning show.

Marchand previously reported that Barber was the leading candidate for the role, and with the finalization first reported by longtime New York sports scribe Gary Myers.

The 48-year-old Giants great currently hosts midday on WFAN with Brandon Tierney.

It is not yet known who will be Tierney’s new partner.

Last Thursday, after a report from Marchand, Carton confirmed that his final show at WFAN will be on June 30.

“I love Evan. It has nothing to do with Evan Roberts, nothing to do with anyone here,” Carton said.

“It has to do with my personal life and the opportunity I have to do a show at Fox Sports and FS1. WFAN is family to me. WFAN is everything to me. I’m a 30-plus year talk show host and radio is the only thing I’ve ever done well.”

Barber played for the Giants from 1997-2006 and is the franchise’s all-time leader in rushing yards by a wide margin with 10,449.

Longtime New York football writer Gary Myers said it would be announced on Monday.

Barber and Tierney moved their national show on CBS Sports Radio to WFAN at the start of 2022.

Carton’s departure does not come as a surprise. His current work schedule long has been understood to be unsustainable.
