Senate Passage: The U.S. House Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a bill that would require AM radio as standard, easily accessible equipment in new passenger vehicles sold in the United States, sending the measure to the Senate, where passage is widely expected. 

What It Requires: The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act directs the Department of Transportation to issue a rule within one year requiring automakers to install devices that can receive and play AM — including digital AM — without extra fees.
