Cumulus Media’s Sportsradio 96.7 and 1310 The Ticket will once again expand its long-running soccer program, The KickAround, into a nightly destination for fans during the 2026 World Soccer action, delivering 36 shows and 44 hours of original programming throughout the tournament. The 2026 World Soccer coverage runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
Longtime contributor and European soccer journalist Lars Sivertsen will join The KickAround in studio for the duration of the World Soccer coverage alongside the show’s long-standing hosts, Andy Swift and Peter Welpton.
The roots of The KickAround trace back to the 2014 world tournament in Brazil, when the program launched as a daily show on The Ticket. Its success led to The KickAround becoming a weekly program later that year, and the show has since returned in expanded daily World Soccer form for the 2018, 2022, and now 2026 tournaments.
Jeff Catlin, Program Director, Sportsradio 96.7 and 1310 The Ticket, said: “This is our fourth year to cover World Soccer with expanded programming on The KickAround. Interest this year is at an all-time high with key tournament games being played in Dallas-Fort Worth. The KickAround will be a destination for Ticket listeners and both soccer fans and casuals.”
A staple of The Ticket’s World Soccer coverage, The KickAround returns with its most comprehensive offering to date, airing weeknights at 7:00pm, following The Hardline, in addition to its regular 2:00-4:00pm Saturday slot and select Sunday broadcasts. Special programming is also planned for the tournament final, including both a pregame preview show and post-match recap.
The show will serve as a daily home base for listeners, providing recaps of the day’s matches, previews of upcoming fixtures, and real-time analysis of the biggest stories shaping the tournament. True to The Ticket’s style, the program is designed to engage both casual fans following World Soccer for the first time and lifelong followers of the sport.
Coverage will include an enhanced focus on the U.S. Men’s National Team, with select match days featuring live, on-location broadcasts and fan events tied to U.S. games.
Each episode will air live on The Ticket across broadcast and streaming platforms and will be available immediately afterward on the show’s podcast feed.
