Radio Ratings Recap: More February PPMs


SAN FRANCISCO: Status Quo


With the holiday bump gone, ratings returned to familiar positions. KQED held #1 (6+, 9.8→9.9) and KCBS-AM stayed #2 (8.3→8.8), well ahead of the rest. KOIT rose to #3 (4.7→5.0); KIOI (Star 101.3) climbed to #4 with its best book in over a year (3.7→4.7). KMVQ (99.7 NOW) remained #5 (4.6), and KDFC fell to #6 (4.9→4.3). KOIT led cume, up 3.1% to 1,016,200. Market overall down 0.5%.


In 25–54, KQED stayed #1; KMVQ was #2. KIOI jumped to #3 after three consecutive gains. KOIT was #4; KYLD (WiLD 94.9) held #5, both with solid increases. KITS (LIVE 105) slipped to #6. Notably, KBRG (Amor 100.3) surged from #11 to #7, more than doubling its share over two surveys.



WASHINGTON, DC: News Not Shutting Down


The partial government shutdown during this book boosted Hubbard News WTOP to #1 (6+, 13.5→15.2), its ninth straight top finish and largest share in over a year. American University news WAMU held #2 (11.0→11.8). Howard University Urban AC WHUR was the top music station at #3 (6.6→7.0); iHeartMedia Alternative WWDC (DC101) stayed #4 (5.4). iHeartMedia AC WASH rose to #5 despite a dip (4.9→4.6), and Atlantic Gateway Contemporary Christian WGTS fell to #6 (5.4→4.3). WTOP reclaimed cume leadership, up 8.4% to 922,600.


In 25–54, WAMU and WTOP were #1–#2, both with double-digit shares. WWDC remained #3 but lost share; WASH moved to #4; WHUR to #5; WGTS slipped two spots to #6, ending its two-book surge.




PHILADELPHIA: Rock On


Two rock formats surged to the top of the 6+ chart. Beasley Active Rock WMMR climbed to #1 (7.1 from 7.1, up from #2), while Beasley Classic Rock WMGK moved up to #2 (7.1 from 6.6). Audacy AC WBEB (B101) jumped three spots to #3 with its best Frosty-free share in over a year (6.5 from 5.4). Audacy Sports WIP (94WIP SPORTSRADIO), no longer riding the Eagles, fell from first to third (6.5 from 8.5). Audacy News KYW slipped to #5 (6.3 from 6.6) and iHeartMedia Urban AC WDAS dipped to #6 (6.1 from 5.7). WBEB’s #1 cume grew 7.0% (1,028,800 to 1,101,300). The market overall declined 0.8%.


WMMR also held the top 25-54 position for the second consecutive survey. WBEB moved up to #2 in that demo but remained more than two shares behind the leader. WDAS rose to #3, and EMF Contemporary Christian WKVP (Positive, Encouraging 106.9 K-LOVE) climbed two spots to #4; both posted solid gains. WIP dropped from #2 to #5, and WHYY Inc. N/T WHYY slipped to #6, paired with Beasley’s WMGK, which advanced from #9.



BOSTON: So Magical


Audacy AC WMJX (Magic 106.7) rose to #1 6+ (6.2-6.2). Beasley Adult Hits WROR ticked up to #2 (5.5-5.7). Beasley Sports WBZ-F (98.5 The Sports Hub) fell from #1 to #3 with its smallest share since September (7.6-5.3), paired with Audacy Hot AC WBMX (Mix 104.1), which jumped from #7 to #3 with its best number since July (4.5-5.3). Boston University N/T WBUR moved from #7 to #5 with its strongest book in a year (4.5-5.2). iHeartMedia Pop CHR WXKS (Kiss 108) slipped to #6 (5.1-4.9). iHeartMedia N/T WBZ-A drifted to #7 (5.0-4.3), tied with iHeartMedia Classic Rock WZLX, up from #10 (3.8-4.3). WMJX’s #1 cume rose 6.1% (779,800-827,000). Market up 0.2%.



WBMX climbed to #1 25-54 with its best book since June. WBZ-F eased to #2 after a double-digit month, WXKS returned to #3 losing last month’s gain, WMJX held at #4 with a slight dip, and WZLX stayed at #5 while rebounding; WROR moved up from #6 to join the tie.
