R.I.P.: Orlando Personality Jeff Duncan, Known As Doc Holiday

Jeff Duncan
Jeff Dencan know to Central Florida Radio listeners at Doc Holliday (often styled as Doc Holiday) has died.

He co-hosted the long-running morning show on WXXL-FM, branded as XL 106.7.

He anchored the "Doc & Johnny Morning Show" (initially known as the XL Morning Zoo) alongside co-host Johnny Magic for over 17 years, starting around the early 1990s. The show became a staple for Orlando listeners, especially in the 1990s and early 2000s, featuring humor, music, and local appeal in the contemporary hit radio format.

Doc Holliday also served as an announcer for the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare during part of its run in the early 1990s (after the original announcer Harvey left), bringing his radio voice to TV.His real name was reportedly Jeff Duncan. He began his radio career in high school in New Jersey around 1979 and later moved into major markets.

'In March 2007, after 17 years on the show, Doc Holliday resigned from XL 106.7. Reports from the time (including an Orlando Sentinel article) described it as a tough personal decision—he felt he needed a change after decades in the industry and wasn't as passionate about the early-morning grind anymore.

Doc and Johnny
Johnny Magic continued the show without him, and the two remained on good terms as friends/brothers, though they didn't stay in close contact. Doc later worked in other roles, including at K92FM (WWKA) in Orlando for sports/community talk, and he did voice work and arena announcing (e.g., for the Orlando Predators).

Recent reports from early 2026 indicate that Doc Holliday has passed away from cancer. His former co-host Johnny Magic (still associated with XL 106.7) confirmed the news.

Tributes from Orlando media and listeners highlight him as a legend for those who grew up in the area during the 1990s, remembering his impact on local radio culture.
