Fox News Media announced on Tuesday, the promotion of veteran journalist Aishah Hasnie to the dual role of anchor and White House correspondent, bolstering its Washington, D.C., coverage team amid a series of recent network expansions.

The move, revealed by President and Executive Editor Jay Wallace, positions Hasnie to launch her own solo Saturday afternoon program from noon to 2 p.m. ET starting January 10, 2026, while immediately joining the White House briefing room alongside correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich.

Wallace praised Hasnie's expertise in a statement, saying, “Aishah’s knowledge of Washington makes her a perfect addition to our stellar White House team of correspondents, and we are confident she will excel in the anchor chair as well.”

Hasnie, who expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, responded, “I am thrilled for the opportunity to deliver critical information to our viewers across the country in the anchor chair and honored to join our prestigious White House correspondent team.”

Hasnie, 38, joined Fox News Channel in 2019 as a New York-based correspondent before advancing to Washington roles as congressional correspondent and senior national correspondent. In these positions, she covered major events including the 2020 and 2024 presidential campaigns, conducting high-profile interviews with figures such as then-candidate Donald Trump, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Taiwanese Ambassador Alexander Yui.Her career trajectory reflects a blend of local and international experience.

Born in Pakistan, Hasnie began her professional journey at GEO-TV, an Urdu-language network in Lahore, before moving to the U.S. She later anchored the 4 p.m. newscast First at Four and served as an investigative reporter at WXIN-TV, the Fox affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana. Earlier, she was an investigative reporter and substitute anchor at CBS affiliate WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The promotion aligns with Fox News' ongoing weekend programming refresh, following September 2025 changes that introduced The Sunday Briefing hosted by Doocy and Heinrich, Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany, and The Big Weekend Show led by Johnny “Joey” Jones and Tomi Lahren. It also comes shortly after the network elevated border reporter Bill Melugin to congressional correspondent, signaling a strategic emphasis on deepening political coverage as the new administration takes shape.
