Paul Kelly, a longtime Philadelphia radio personality and WMGK veteran, has been named the new morning host at 102.9 WMGK-FM, Philadelphia’s classic rock station.
The appointment returns Kelly, a Philly native and fixture at WMGK since 2019, to the high-profile 6–10 a.m. slot he had previously filled on an interim basis earlier in 2025.
Fans had actively campaigned for his permanent return after expressing dissatisfaction with the prior morning show lineup.

encyclopedic knowledge of classic rock, and energetic on-air style, Kelly has long been a listener favorite.
His local credentials include growing up idolizing Philly radio legends, lifelong Eagles season tickets dating back to Franklin Field, and participation in iconic events like Live Aid.
In addition to his on-air work, Kelly serves as General Manager of Kelly Music Research and co-hosts the popular radio-industry podcast Aircheck: Radio Stories with Rich DeSisto.
The move solidifies WMGK’s commitment to homegrown talent as the Beasley Media Group station continues to dominate Philadelphia’s classic rock format. Kelly’s first official morning show in the permanent role is expected imminently.
