Fox News outperformed CNN and MSNBC in September showing year-over-year viewership growth despite a tough comparison to the 2024 election year.
Fox News averaged 2.54 million primetime viewers in September (up 1%), while MSNBC dropped 43% to 810,000, and CNN fell 36% to 543,000.
In total day, Fox News was up 13% to 1.61 million, while MSNBC and CNN saw declines of 44% and 26%, respectively.

In the 25-54 demo, all networks saw declines, with Fox News down 14% in primetime (280,000) and 7% in total day (179,000), while CNN and MSNBC faced steeper drops.
Fox News’ The Five led cable news shows with 3.9 million viewers, followed by Jesse Watters Primetime, Hannity, Special Report with Bret Baier, and Gutfeld!. In the 25-54 demo, Hannity topped with 391,000 viewers.
