TV Ratings Now 10 Weeks, Fox News Beats Nets During Primetime


FOX News Channel (FNC) led all broadcast networks in primetime during the week of August 4 with 2.7 million viewers, leading NBC (2.3 million viewers), CBS (1.9 million viewers) and ABC (2 million viewers). 

Notably, this marks the tenth time this year that FNC has defeated all of the broadcast networks in weekday primetime. In Monday - Sunday total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.4 million viewers and 153,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all of cable. 

FNC commanded 64% of the primetime and 63% of the total day cable news audience and delivered 97 of the top 100 weekly cable news telecasts.


For the week of August 4-August 10, The Five averaged 3.4 million viewers and 336,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news in all categories. Notably, The Five surpassed all airings of Big Brother on CBS for the week. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.4 million viewers and 248,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.5 million viewers and 228,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.5 million viewers and 248,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.4 million viewers and 180,000 in the 25-54 demo.
 

At 10 PM/ET, Gutfeld! commanded 2.7 million viewers and 282,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all broadcast late-night shows with viewers leading CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which drew 2.1 million viewers. On Thursday, Greg Gutfeld appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon which secured over 1.7 million viewers, making it the program’s most-watched show this year.

FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 1,957,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,843,000 viewers), The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,776,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,735,000 viewers) and America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,654,000 viewers) all led NBC’s Today Third Hour (1,649,000 viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1,142,000 viewers).


On Saturday:
My View with Lara Trump (Saturday, 9 PM/ET) drew 1.4 million viewers and 115,000 in the 25-54 demo leading cable news with viewers. FOX News Live (Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM/ET) led cable news in the 25-54 demo on Saturday with 129,000 viewers. At 10 PM/ET, FOX News Saturday Night commanded 1.1 million viewers.

On Sunday: Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday 10 AM/ET) was the top show of the day with 1.7 million viewers and 124,000 in the 25-54 demo. Trey Gowdy’s Sunday Night in America (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) was the top show in primetime with 1.4 million viewers and 118,000 in the 25-54 demo. Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) followed with 1.2 million viewers.

“World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 program in Total Viewers (6.882 million) on all of broadcast and cable during the week of Aug. 4, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” has been the No. 1 most-watched program on television for 13 weeks in a row (with and without sports).
  • “World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 newscast across broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (6.882 million), Adults 25-54 (915,000) and Adults 18-49 (586,000).
  • “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (5.346 million, 715,000 and 468,000, respectively) by 1.536 million Total Viewers, by 200,000 Adults 25-54 and by 118,000 Adults 18-49.
  • “World News Tonight” (6.882 million, 915,000 and 586,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Evening News” (3.744 million, 516,000 and 363,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+84%/+3.138 million), Adults 25-54 (+77%/+399,000) and Adults 18-49 (+61%/+223,000).

  • Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.660 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 9th consecutive year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.069 million) by 1.591 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.220 million) by 3.440 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” is growing its Total Viewer lead over NBC compared to the same point last season (+26% – 1.591 million vs. 1.265 million) to its largest in 30 years — since the 1994-1995 season. In addition, “World News Tonight” is increasing its Total Viewer season margin versus “CBS Evening News” by 11% (3.440 million vs. 3.092 million) to its largest in 4 years — since the 2020-2021 season.

📺BROADCAST MORNING NEWS


“Good Morning America” ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (2.547 million) during the week of Aug. 4, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” beat NBC’s “Today” (2.379 million) by 168,000. “GMA” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 23rd consecutive week and in 25 and the last 26 weeks.

  • For the 3rd week in a row, “GMA” was up year to year in Adults 18-49 (+1% – 292,000 vs. 289,000).
  • “GMA” slashed its margins with “Today” year to year by more than half in both Adults 25-54 (-58% – 119,000 vs. 280,000) and Adults 18-49 (-76% – 55,000 vs. 231,000).
  • “GMA” (2.547 million, 434,000 and 292,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Mornings” (1.784 million, 327,000 and 177,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+763,000), Adults 25-54 (+107,000) and Adults 18-49 (+115,000). “GMA” led “CBS Mornings” in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the last 1,386 weeks overall — since w/o 1/18/99.
  • NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54, marking 103 out of 104 weekly demo wins. Additionally, TODAY was the only morning show to grow in the key demo versus the prior week.
