Weekly TV Ratings: Fox News Channel Remains Number One Network


During the week of July 21-27, FOX News Channel (FNC) averaged 2.4 million viewers (232,000 A25-54) in Monday-Sunday primetime, leading all broadcast and cable networks, including ABC (2.11 million viewers), NBC (2.062 million viewers) and CBS (1.99 million viewers). 

In Monday-Sunday total day, FNC scored 1.5 million viewers and 157,000 A25-54. In Monday-Friday total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.7 million viewers and 182,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all of cable. 


In Monday-Friday primetime (8-11 PM/ET), FNC averaged 2.8 million viewers and 280,000 in the 25-54 demo, again outpacing NBC, CBS and ABC for the fifth straight week. FNC has been television’s highest-rated network this summer, topping all broadcast and cable networks in primetime with 2.5 million viewers. Last week, the network commanded 63% of the primetime audience and 62% of the total day cable news audience.

For the week, The Five was the most watched program in television, averaging 3.4 million viewers and 365,000 in the 25-54 demo, and leading cable news in all categories. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.5 million viewers and 254,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.4 million viewers and 246,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.6 million viewers and 262,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.4 million viewers and 145,000 in the 25-54 demo.


At 10 PM/ET, FNC’s runaway late-night offering Gutfeld! secured 2.9 million viewers and 293,000 with A25-54, once again topping the broadcast competition with viewers. Gutfeld! prevailed over CBS’ Late show with Stephen Colbert (2.4 million viewers), NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.1 million viewers), ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (931,000 viewers) and Late Night with Seth Meyers (719,000 viewers).

During the week, FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition with Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,867,000 viewers) surpassing CBS Mornings (1.8 million viewers). The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,799,000 viewers), America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,784,000 viewers), The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,775,000 viewers) and America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,774,000 viewers) topped NBC’s Today Third Hour (1,661,000 viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1,256,000 viewers). FOX & Friends (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET; 1,232,000 viewers) also outpaced NBC’s Today with Jenna & Friends and NBC News Daily.


On Saturday:
  FNC held 70% of the cable news share with primetime viewers. Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was the most watched cable news show of the day, garnering 1.4 million viewers and 122,000 A25054. My View with Lara Trump (Saturday, 9-10 PM/ET) and The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 6-8 PM/ET) followed with 1.4 million viewers and 122,000 A25-54 and 1.3 million viewers and 121,000 A25-54, respectively.

On Sunday:  Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday,10 AM/ET) was the top show of the day with over 1.7 million viewers and 204,000 in the 25-54 demo. Sunday Night in America (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) was second for the day with viewers nabbing 1.4 million while MediaBuzz landed second with the 25-54 demo (160,000 A25-54).

“World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 program in Total Viewers (7.272 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.000 million) on all of broadcast and cable during the week of July 21, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” has been the No. 1 most-watched program on television for 11 straight weeks (with and without sports).“World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 newscast across broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.272 million), Adults 25-54 (1.000 million) and Adults 18-49 (689,000).
  • “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (5.487 million, 775,000 and 498,000, respectively) by 1.785 million Total Viewers, by 225,000 Adults 25-54 and by 191,000 Adults 18-49.
  • “World News Tonight” widened its margins over “NBC Nightly News” versus the previous week in Total Viewers (+6% – 1.785 million vs. 1.683 million), Adults 25-54 (+13% – 225,000 vs. 199,000) and Adults 18-49 (+30% – 191,000 vs. 147,000), delivering its largest overall viewer lead over the NBC program in over 1 year — since w/o 7/1/24.
  • “World News Tonight” increased its lead over “NBC Nightly News” year to year in Total Viewers (+27% – 1.785 million vs. 1.402 million), Adults 25-54 (+36% – 225,000 vs. 166,000) and Adults 18-49 (+115% – 191,000 vs. 89,000).

  • “World News Tonight” (7.272 million, 1.000 million and 689,000, respectively) more than doubled the performance of “CBS Evening News” (3.615 million, 495,000 and 366,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+101%/+3.657 million) and Adults 25-54 (+102%/+505,000), while nearly doubling its performance in Adults 18-49 (+88%/+323,000).

📺BROADCAST MORNING SHOWS

Good Morning America” ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (2.625 million), Adults 25-54 (481,000) and Adults 18-49 (314,000), during the week of July 21, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” outdelivered NBC’s “Today” (2.297 million, 474,000 and 288,000, respectively) to take the top spot across the board for the first time in nearly 2 years — since w/o 8/7/23.“GMA” led “Today” by 328,000 Total Viewers, by 7,000 Adults 25-54 and by 26,000 Adults 18-49, ranking No. 1 in overall viewers for the 21st consecutive week and in 23 of the last 24 weeks.

  • “GMA” increased its Total Viewers lead over “Today” by double digits week to week (+82%; vs. 180,000) and by triple digits year to year (+583%; vs. 48,000), leading the NBC program by its 2nd-largest margin in more than 1 1/2 years — since w/o 12/25/23.
  • “GMA” saw week-to-week gains in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.625 million vs. 2.598 million), Adults 25-54 (+8% – 481,000 vs. 446,000) and Adults 18-49 (+5% – 314,000 vs. 298,000), standing as the only morning newscast to grow week to week across the board.
  • On Thursday (7/24/25), “GMA” outperformed “Today” by its largest single-day margin in Total Viewers (+534,000 – 2.744 million vs. 2.210 million) in nearly 2 years and biggest lead in Adults 25-54 (+119,000 – 557,000 vs. 438,000) in over 2 years — 8/14/23 and 3/29/23, respectively, based on regular telecasts. Further, “GMA” scored its largest single-day win over “Today” in Adults 18-49 (+107,000 – 383,000 vs. 276,000) in nearly 3 years — since 8/25/22.
  • In addition, on Thursday, “GMA” scored its top telecast in Adults 25-54 (557,000) in over 6 months — since 1/9/25.
  • “GMA” (2.625 million, 481,000 and 314,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Mornings” (1.800 million, 287,000 and 193,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+825,000), Adults 25-54 (+194,000) and Adults 18-49 (+121,000). “GMA” led “CBS Mornings” in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the last 1,384 weeks overall — since w/o 1/18/99.
