New York Road Runners (NYRR) and iHeartMedia New York have expanded their radio broadcast partnership through 2027, building on their initial collaboration for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon.
Announced on Tuesday, the three-year deal enhances coverage of NYRR events, focusing on the marathon and other races, while promoting running’s transformative power.
Key elements include:
- Live Marathon Broadcast: The TCS New York City Marathon, held annually on the first Sunday in November, will continue to be broadcast live on iHeartMedia’s 710 WOR AM and Q104.3HD2, featuring the official world feed with commentary from iHeart personalities. The Q104.3HD2 broadcast supports radio headsets distributed to spectators across New York City’s five boroughs, enabling real-time race updates.
- Expanded Event Coverage: The partnership now includes weekly broadcasts of NYRR’s Set the Pace podcast and live coverage of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile on 710 WOR, broadening the reach of NYRR’s storytelling.
- Promotional Support: iHeartMedia New York will promote the marathon and other NYRR events across its stations, including Z100, 103.5 KTU, Q104.3, Power 105.1, 106.7 LITE FM, and 710 WOR AM, as well as digital and streaming platforms.
- On-Site Engagement: iHeartMedia will maintain a booth at the marathon expo and feature talent like Garrett Vogel from Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show, who will run the marathon and share his training journey.
