R.I.P.: Robin Marshall, Well-Known NYC Radio Personality

Robin Marshall (1957-2025)
68-year-old Robin Marshall, a trailblazing figure in New York City radio, died on May 18, 2025, at age 68, after a 12-year battle with multiple cancers.

Starting her career in 1986 at WAPP (later WQHT, Hot 97) in NYC, Marshall’s distinctive voice and engaging personality made her a standout. She became a mainstay in the city’s competitive radio scene, lending her talents to stations like WPIX-FM, WQCD-FM (CD101.9), and WWFS (Fresh 102.7) over a 25-year span. Known for her professional yet relatable style, she earned a devoted audience and industry respect as a signature station voice.

Around 2010, Marshall left New York, briefly joining WLNK in Charlotte, North Carolina, before taking a leadership role as General Manager and Vice President of Creative for Cumulus Media’s “Sound Solutions” in Dallas, Texas. There, she shaped the sound of stations nationwide while continuing her work as a sought-after voiceover artist, bringing warmth and clarity to commercials and promos.

In her later years, Marshall settled in Florida, where she married husband Michael Kugler.
