Michael Goodwin, a New York Post columnist and Fox News contributor, published an opinion piece Sunday, titled “The press hates Trump more than it loves the truth — and the hyperbolic fear-mongering we’ve seen is proof.”
In it, he argues that the mainstream media’s bias against President Donald Trump distorts reporting, prioritizing anti-Trump narratives over factual accuracy. Goodwin, a frequent critic of liberal media, contends that this bias manifests in exaggerated or misleading stories, which he labels “hyperbolic fear-mongering,” eroding public trust in journalism.

Goodwin argues that the media’s focus on narrative over truth has led to plummeting public trust, a sentiment echoed in posts on X, which highlight his claim that media distrust has grown since Trump entered politics. He sees this as a self-inflicted wound, with the press acting as “the boy who cried wolf.”
Goodwin notes that the Trump administration has countered media bias by inviting independent outlets and bloggers to White House press briefings, a move he praises as diversifying voices.
